You might also look at that and conclude that gas is cheaper now. In 1951, you'd have paid that 25 cents with a silver quarter -- which today is worth about $13. Today with gas at $5 a gallon, you could pay that with a silver dime and still have change left. It's not that things are more expensive, it's that the currency is worthless.Pottsville Republican

All the currency is worthless, but digital currency is even more so. If you were an early investor in bitcoin, you made millions, today if you were to invest 10k, tomorrow you might only have 5k, or 15k. With everything going on in the world, your best investments are silver and gold. You might also look at that and conclude that gas is cheaper now. Partially. Diversification is good. Just be aware that stocks can and do lose value, including going to zero. Property can also lose value, particularly rental property, but it rarely goes to zero.Disagree. Stock market and property are the real winners.
Gold has dropped back to $4300. That’s the number I was looking for to buy more! All the currency is worthless, but digital currency is even more so. Yes back in the 60s you could fill up most cars for what a gallon of gas cost now!I remember getting a dollar of gas to drive around all night. A few dollars would fill up the tank.
I would not be driving much. I have a class C motorhome, I just use it within the state, costs about the same at each gas station. If I were to drive across the country to visit, it would take close to 5k for a trip. I would have to make it a year long trip in order to enjoy it, then kick Squatters out of my home. A 45 and old mine shafts solve the squatter issue.3/4 tank of diesel in my pickup. These buffoons have really screwed up my state!!! For what exactly? Really feel for people on fixed incomes.

I talked to a friend here around Chicagoland, he said driving his Electric 2022 Nissan Ariya is worth it anytime the gas is above $ 3.70 a gallon.Don't own one and probably never will, but can't help thinking electric car owners must be smiling every time they drive by a gas station with recent price hikes.
Since writing this, my stocks and property have increased in value. My gold and silver values are down. Long term is the stock market and property...can't be beat. One should watch what the uber wealthy do. Research long term investing will enlighten.Partially. Diversification is good. Just be aware that stocks can and do lose value, including going to zero.
