Today I had a great score. 25 silver quarters & 1 40% half from the guy at the gas station. Paid him $72 ($2.75 per quarter & the half). I felt like I did pretty good. I offer $2.50 each, he countered with $3, we settled on splitting the difference. I have pulled a Peace dollar, 37 mercs, 25 silver quarters, and a bunch of silver dimes, 90%'s & 40%'s over the last couple months. I am trying to pay him about pawn shop prices he was getting & keeping him happy. I pay about or less than 50% melt every time. Happy Hunting! - Jonathan

Mr. Silver Stash, I remember the very first time I CRH'ed. I got $7.50 in halves and got 3 40%'s. Not much, but you came along and were the very first person to comment. You said "Good for you, bro! Nice silver score. Happy hunting- JJ" I wanted to let you know, it made my day! I felt awesome that someone much more experienced and knowledgable thought I did a good job. So nice silver score!

so what types of quarters were they besides silver? i mean were they all washington? slq? barber? what years were they.

That is one awesome connection you have there.. How often do you check in with the guy? Also I am wondering how the topic even came up for discussion.. Did you see him pull some coins one day and asked him if you could purchase them from him? I have every bartender at my restaurant looking for silver for me lol... I told them for every silver dime I would give them 1 dollar and for every quarter 3 dollars.. so far it has given me a few dimes.. I just love seeing them open rolls and look for me.. :laughing7:

I check in every two to three weeks. I walked in one day said got half dollars he said I can't give u these there silver. So I ask how about selling them. He used to take them to a pawn shop. I give him about 60% melt. I got worried last time he said he wanted to go back to the pawn shop and check his prices. But I'm back in business.

Sweet.. That is an awesome hookup you have.. It also works for him because he doesn't have to go to the pawn shop just to sell them...

You're probably still giving him more than a pawn shop would.

Watch out, you'll put Cash4Gold outa business - j/k, wish I had a good deal like that.

$35 for 8 silver quarters, 3 40% and a 1964 half and two buffs.

I know a cash only gas station near my house (lower prices). Going to ask that dude if he has any halves. Then i'll show him a silver dime, quarter, and half and ask him to look and i'll buy them. If he doesn't know anything about coins, what should I offer? $1 for dime, $2 for quarter, $3 for half? Keep it simple.

I need more friends like that...lol...You did great!
