Gas Stations

This past week I actually asked for halfs at a grocery store and got 2-64 and 2-68. Since banks have been dry lately. Today I was buying a carwash at a gas station and asked for halfs. I was told they didn't have any but she did say she had a dollar. I said I'd take it assuming it was a Ike I could spend later. So I handed her a dollar and she handed me a 2003 Silver Eagle. Now, If it would have been her's personally I'd have told her etc...I'm not out to rip people off....But as they sold $1 worth of stuff to get it, and offered it to me....I gladly added it to my collection.

I've been meaning to try the service desks, but every time I try, some woman always manage to get in line in front of me, needing to return some cauliflower, a can of baked beans, and a half eaten hostess pie. Then she usually asks for a price adjustment on a receipt from 2 years ago, and needs to buy a money order to send to her aunt who lives in the former Czech Republic.

I have just started asking at all registers. At the Grocery stores I ask at the customer service desk. They usually, I have discovered, have a safe in the back and put odds and ends in it. Today they got a clad 1994 half for me.

Ya know, that IS the purpose of the customer service desk... Nah, but who are you kidding? Prices have only gone UP since two years ago! OK OK, thanks for the laugh.

Anyway, I never thought of this. Maybe I'll give it a try.

awesome score!!! i never thot of asking at stores etc...when i was young tho, i used to make my mom ask at any mickey d's or wally world we ever drove past if they had any 2 dollar bills (i thot they were rare ) a while back ii too got an ASE for $1 when i asked for $1 coins. keep it up and hh!
