GB set in the middle?

When hunting with a Vaquero in mild to no mineralization ground, can you just leave GB in the middle or should you go thru the setting procedure?

if there are no minerals to gb to then it doesn't matter where you set it. where i am there is little to none and no matter where i have the knob there is no change in threshold so i just leave mine in the middle. as least that's the way i understood it from the guys at tesoro. you should still always check first just to make sure. anyone else experience this?

I always GB mine no matter where I go. It only takes a minute.

Always ground balance. That way, you'll be sure that your detector is working at peak efficiency. It doesn't take but a few seconds to do this and if you're working a fairly good sized area, you should re-balance every once in a while to keep on top of the game.
