Lots of sterling at my local thrift store today. I picked out some nice pieces for the wife and for profit.

Can someone identify the stone in the cross so I don't mis-title it on eBay? Thanks!

Here is the rest of it. $28 spent. The silver ball and Mexican sun necklaces were $2 each, the heavy flower pendant/earrings and Jerusalem cross were $12 each.
I might have overspent on those.
37.8 grams total.

So, REAL or simulated opal? Any way to tell?

Black opal is extremely expensive. If it is set in silver, then it's probably what is called an opal triplet, opal sandwiched between two very thin pieces of glass. The good opals would be set in gold or platinum, but that is a generalization.

I think it’s lab made opal - that patchy “lizard skin” look is usually a give way. Too much definition.
