Last week while picking up some clad along a river where people swim in summer I happened upon a Geocach. The Tupperware container was covered with camo tape and under a rock ledge, it said Presho travel bug. I signed the notebook and kept a one of the items inside. Looked it up and man theres a lot of these things everywhere! Since I never encountered this game I thought I'd see If anyone here does it.

Read about it, talked to a friend at work who does it occasionally. It's not for me. Rather be dirt fishing.

We've been doing it for about three years, we enjoy it and the kids love it. We always stop to get a couple on any road trip and have gotten several while out detecting. It's good, cheap family fun. There are apps that go along with it, Cgeo being the best in my opinion. All it takes is a smart phone, no true gps needed.

I stumbled across one last weekend it was just like a test tube with a screw on lid. I didn't sign the paper don't carry a pen while detecting. I did see it had been being signed for 3 yrs. I returned it to where it was and thought not what I had in mind for finding a cache.

If you took a travel bug from the cache you may want to consider either putting it back or finding a new cache to put it in. They are trackable items much like the "Where's George" game. Some one purchased it for the reason of tracking it as it travels around the world. I found 744 caches under my Dr. Witty ID, and then I abruptly stopped. 2 years later out of the blue I decided to get a metal Detector. It was the obvious next step and I will never look back. There are however some really cool cache containers out there.
