Hello,. Hit up an old house site near a Continental army River crossing. Popped this out thinking it was just a fancy flat button.....Well I guess it is a fancy flat button technically.

I reckon you read the comments on your thread. Someone mentioned this untra cool button might have great value. I wouldn't even begin to attempt cleaning it. I'd leave it be and start looking for a professional grading outfit to decide what is best for a rare relic of this nature. Wonderful button. Flat beautiful for certain. Banner find mate. Congratulations.

Beautiful Button. When I dig mine, I want it to look just like yours :laughing7:

Thanks for the warm welcome. Like I said I had no idea what I had untill I googled it. I have been pretty lucky and busy hunting since my old posts. I'll have to get some find shots of other items. I have since upgraded equipment twice. Now run a good old atpro with propointer. For me I'd probably like to think I'd never sell my finds.

I wonder where I could go to get a Smithsonian expert opinion. You guys responses have me wondering.

Wow.

A guy around me found one exactly like that and sold to a private buyer for close to $10,000.

Some people have more money than ....

To the OP, great looking button, they are normally pretty toast.

Wow Welcome to the forum Thanks for sharing it!!!!!!

As the others stated... superb condition... what a beauty.

Congrats and welcome.

What do you need the expert opinion for exactly? The Museum will only tell you what you already know & they don't talk prices.

I wanted to get pics up and didn't tell the story too well. This was in the hole with a bent piece of rusty nail. Not far from where I found a largey. There's another digger at this site who doesn't cover their holes at all. I only wonder if this was passed over because of the nail or if they just didn't swing over it.

Perhaps he wants something in print? Dunno.

Here's Alberts in print.

I'm thinking the other hunter was going after clean signals and past it up or a newbie. Too bad for the other hunter BIG CONGRATS to you again!
