Welcome Julie! I live in Pflugerville. I know of some areas around Round Rock, Leander, South and West Austin areas but I am currently on Active Duty at Fort Sam Houston. I am on duty 6 days a week due to this COVID thing going on but I do come back to Pflugerville on Saturday late evening and enjoy Sunday and part of Monday morning off.

I will PM you my phone number and we can check out some places together if you like when all this COVID blows over Austin Metal Detecting Club is in Austin you can look them up also. I got a brand new Minelab Equinox I haven't tried out yet.

Welcome to the forum Julie. Research is the key to this hobby. If you can't find anyone to partner up with, do research in your Library, use old maps, talk to elders, drive around old neighborhoods looking for the right stone foundations, head out in the country and look for old homesteads, look for old parks, etc. The more old places you can find to hunt, the more old things you will find.
