Georgia Gold where to look..?

astro bouncer on this site. He would be able to help, but i don't think he is on anymore

You have several choices here in Ga.
1 - join a club that has properties and camping.
2 - pay to play spot like Gold and Gem.
3 - find private property that the owner will let you use.

Good Luck!

4 - find public property without restrictions ( this may be your best move!) right in your area.

look at the Georgia "state" site ..I got maps posted there from long ago that show the gold baring areas in Georgia ... find a "public area" in the gold baring area and good luck...

Need a place to camp and high bank pan, eat..
Any ideas..?
Alatoona Lakes, about 50 miles north of Atlanta. Lots of beautiful campgrounds, $27-30 per night.
There are several creeks on Army Corps of Engineer land bordering the lakes.
Go to the Coker Creek Forum, (GPAA) in Tennessee, and talk to Big Al. He has a list of places to go there.

Gold Camp in Craigsford Alabama its right on the Alabama / Georgia boarder! its got what your looking for! Ive been there and had a great time!

Is that pan only or can i run a bazooka there?

I like how they refer to it always as"government" land.

Well in that case it is! The government bought it and holds the deed...as compare to public land managed by the government without a title/deed.

It just seems so "Sketchy".. Just want to use a mini high banker camp and enjoy some prospecting.. Live in northeast Florida and need a weekend get away..
Thank you all for the information..[emoji521]

I agree with Kevin

If anyone still active on this.. As far as Georgia goes-
it's never a bad idea check in your own backyard.
I'm pretty close to the gold museum in villa rica( translates to rich village? )
And my own yard is a nice little spot . Not a nugget heaven -but in Georgia just remember that it's placer gold - still I have seen folks with little nuggets they claim came from the villa rica area. It was a booming town and at one time had a dude ranch as well as the airport - still -- even before that the Indians were actively mining the streams . If anyone has knowledge of a person with a "johnnyrocker"-
I am very interested in using the johnnyrocker method . Sounds fun🙂
