Not Olympic due to the German inscription. Might be a school medal or something along those lines. Still looking for an example. Could also be post WWI or post WWII. Again this is all just my opinion.

1. Preis obviously means 1st Place or Prize
24. V 14 has me stumped, not a runner so don't know if this track related

Maybe the "24. V. 14" represents the time it took to run the course?

German Athletics Championships or Deutsche Leichtathletik-Meisterschaften weren't held in 1914 due to the outbreak of WWI. So it's not a State wide sports event if it is a date.

And since WW1 started only June or July 1914, it has got nothing to do with the WW. Germans DO have medals, decorations, championships etc etc without invading Poland or Belgium, one would not believe it.
