Detector(s) used
ace250
what would be the best metal detector for a 9 year old little kid. :icon_scratch:

Maybe one with graphic target ID but nothing high end. Maybe an American Eagle HP-1030? Or a older graphic target model? My thought is the graphics part and other things would keep interest longer. But then again, if she's not techie, maybe simpler with a needle would be better? Like a HP-1016.

Best wishes!

You need a tough built, simple, and very light weight machine. I'd say the Tesoro Compadre.

Someone has to say it... Ace 150 or 250. Simple, light, tough.

i have the ace 250
im not big on the 150.
i think im going with ace 250 or b.h.

she likes coming with me but i dont trust her with mine. :P

Fisher F2 or an Ace 250. HH, Mike

Whites Classic or similar. Modern technology with good old fashion simple knob controls. Don't get one with a display....will only complicate....

A Tesoro Umax is maybe a cheaper alternative...

The Ace 250 might be good if the kid was a little older.

i dont like the 150 because no pinpoint. :P

shes gunna have it till shes like 13.
duh :P

ace 150 or 250.... 250 would be good because kids have minds like sponges and she will learn it quick if she sticks with it

My son is 9 and uses a Fisher F2 and loves it. He had a Tesoro Cibola, but got tired of digging nails.
