The last couple of weeks I have been getting used to the Xp Deus, it's always a big learning curve when starting out with a new machine. So bearing this in mind I took it back to one of my old sites, right on a Roman road, with a Bath house close by.
Mainly 17th-18th century finds were the only oldies I could get, a few nice buckles and the usuall coppers, then I plucked a small brooch right of the top, with the pin still there...great I was off and on the Roman, but it took another field to get the second...another brooch, then another.. 3 brooches in one day..a first for me.
Later in the day I managed a couple of Silver finds, Elizabeth 1st 1573 Threepence, and a Open Top/Tailors Silver Thimble, made my James Fenton. I had to smash the hammerd out of a piece of earth, that was like concrete, there's a good picture of how I first saw the coin...Have a look
