No idea what this is. Very cool though. Has some writing, from what I can make out “HOTTE” maybe or perhaps it’s not an “E”. Thanks and happy hunting.

I think what you MAY have is a "bottle stopper" maybe even perfume ? ? ?

My first thought was a 'Bakelite' knob, but then I read that you said that it's glass. :icon_scratch:
The presence of a makers name, means that it was likely a patented design or mould on the piece.

Hopefully one of the Tnet members will recognize the name on the knob.

I think it said "Hoffmann" (upside down and backwards?)

I agree with AARC. Possibly a perfume bottle stopper.

Do a search on Heinrich Hoffmann perfume bottles. VERY popular in the 1920's & 30's.

I didn't see any marked like yours. I wonder if it was a "knock-off" and the names was upside-down and backwards to skirt the law.

Wow interesting stuff. Thanks. I could see it being a stopper. And also it saying Hoffmann, though the upside, inverted, backwards....is odd. Hoping someone out there knows more
