This came from my one and only lawn hunt most of the finds were 40s to 50s. The surprise is the impression of a Washington quarter in the front too bad I cant make out the date. Does this look silver to you? What is this?

Melted aluminum or lead that puddled on top of a quarter & cooled ? Possibly from a very hot fire. Does it feel heavy like lead or really light like aluminum ?

Too light for lead too heavy for al. more like pewter weight. The quarter was pressed into the top the back is rough like the molten metal was poured in the ground then the quarter was pressed in.

Looks like someone tried to melt a quarter in a fire or with a blowtorch with some other metal and it wouldn't cooperate....
