I listed this vietnam war plaque a number of times on ebay for $35 or $40, then finally gave up and left it on my wall. Then I moved it to my antique mall display case, priced at $30, where it didn't sell either.

Just clearing out inventory last week so I relisted it on ebay with a starting bid of $25 and free shipping. And last night it sold for $152.50!!!:occasion14: The second highest bid of $150 was from Norway. I KNEW it was a high quality item when I bought it, but never figured it would take this long to find the right buyers.

There was an antique dealer in our town that had a Jenny Lind bed and dresser. She had it marked $850, and progressively marked it down each week until she had the price down to $250. She moved it to the front store window display with a big sign reading "SALE...$250" where it sat for a month.

She finally took it to a consignment auction...and it sold for $1200.

It's funny how that works. I just had one this week as well. A calculator that was broken nonetheless started it off at $9.99 never sold. try to auction it three times not a single bid. put it up there by it now or best offer for $30 and somebody bought it right away!

Its all timing! Great Return

Thanks for posting this, it's a remind that sometimes we just need to be patient and persistent. :)

Awesome! I had a nice Sherwood amplifier that was returned to me as the buyer said it was not working. Put it back on eBay, stated it was not working, and got $50 more for it. The new buyer was very happy with it too!

I think i'll try that with a Dunhill lighter that got returned because it doesn't work right.
