Goggles & Bottle

Found a few interesting non metal objects while detecting some old coal mining houses.

At first I thought the goggle part (plastic/glass) was mining related, but now leaning more towards driving goggles. Any thoughts usage/age?

The bottle has a patent number (U.S. PAT'D 110034 12 0). The patent doesn't state usage, but the bottle did have a plastic stick with brush at end. I believe it was for nail polish.

Re: Goggles & Bottle

The goggles are more than likely old "cutting" goggles that have had the green filter lense removed. The chain piece in the middle was used to adjust the spread between the 2 sides for adjustment across your nose while wearing.

Can't help with the bottle though. :dontknow:

Here is a complete one I have . It is marked GLENDALE OPTICAL CO. Mine has dark lenses for welding . I believe they came several different interchangable lenses .

Thanks for the pic Gypsy Heart :icon_thumright:

Patent date was 1938 so you're spot on the era. Neat to view a pic of the bottle with lid and nail polish.

I also found this nail polish bottle! I did some research and found some interesting photos and ads about the nail polish. I've written about it in my "buried treasure" blog post here Buried Treasure in Talmadge - Talmadge.org (see item 14).
