Went to a garage sale this weekend. The man used to own a sporting goods store. He had a TON of stuff that he was dumping from his storage bin. Lots of cleats (Reebok, Mizuno, and Tanal 360) He was asking $20 a pair, but there was not enough room for mark up. After digging for Cleats for my son for the upcoming little league season (he's 12, and size 12!) I came across a box of Football Visors. Clear Plastic Visors from Oakley. Now, Sunglasses are a pretty good seller if you can get the right brand. Ray Ban, Serengeti, Maui Jim's, and Oakley are all top of the line. He's asking $10, and the going rate on Ebay (out of football season), is $25 to $40 as SOLD, BIN's unsold at $50 to $129. I dig out all the Oakleys and offer him $100 for the 17 (about $6 each). I have them up on Amazon, and come the end of July (when football training season starts, I'll list them on Ebay). This COULD be a big home run... With a little Patience.

He also had Under-armor visors. They are worth about half of the Oakley's. I may have to go back the next time he has a sale and dig those out. If I can get them for about $2 each, they would work out just as well. Now I need a storage shed for my stuff.

Gotta love going out of business buys. I recently purchased over 5000 new USA made Navy ship command ball caps and 3000+ Navy patches for $500.00.

My bedroom is head high with boxes and another 100+ boxes in storage. I already made my 500.00 back and have not even put a dent in to the boxes. If I sell every ball cap in my bedroom with will be over $19,000.00.

Just brought 20 boxes to the house and didn't even put a dent in the the ones being stored.

My wife has almost killed me a number of times, but one of the worst was when I bought a load of swing set equipment. Swings, ladders, slides, accessories, kits...my goodness!!! It took up so much space!!!!

I did well on that lot. I paid $900 cash for all of it. I almost paid for everything on the plastic slides alone. The kits sold well for a while, and then completely died. I dropped the price to $50 for a kit, and they still didn't sell. So, I broke the kits apart into individual parts, and sold the swings for $60 a pair. I even sold the bolt kits on ebay for $20 each.

I still have some components for swing sets sitting in my basement. Looking forward to spring selling on these swings!!!

I would love a USS Hornet hat. How much you selling them for or what is your ebay name?

That's exactly how I think too, just wish I had more... well any, opportunity to buy huge amounts of items. Many people don't do the math on what stuff like that can add up to a few dollars at a time.

They are on sale right now, but in general I think I have them priced fairly well as they sell like hot cakes.

I know what you mean about the wife haha. Luckily / Unluckily my wife is living with her family helping take care of our niece so I have the run of the house. I was hesitant to tell her that her bedroom was filled with boxes but we are moving in less than a month so she didn't really care :).

You should do well with the Oakleys. It is amazing how much people will pay for the stuff even if it is used.

Name Brands Sell.

They sure do! My watches, sunglasses, and ball caps cost me a fortune compared to the same type items without the name, but I buy what I like and obviously many people are the same way.

PS: My glasses are 4 pairs of Oakleys. 8-)

Just picked up two of them. Thanks for the information. :icon_thumleft:

Sorry Greg, no USS Lexington County stuff at all. I do have many more hats still to go through so I'll let you know if I come across anything related.
