Going to Myrtle Beach Wed-Fri need help

I keep hearing about this "Lane thing" Myrtle beach is pretty smooth. At low tide there is a bit of a slope down to the water is that this Lane you keep speaking of? I have a Bounty Hunter Lone Star and my sister has the Quick Draw II I tend to pick up alot of mineral readings in the wet sand. Any suggestions? I like swinging the wet sand more than the soft stuff personally too much trash up there. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think the answer to your question about "The Lane" is merely this... "The Lane" is how certain MD'er on these forums refer to being at the beach with their metal detectors. IE Gonna hit the lane today. or Lots of loot in the lane today. etc. Personally that's the way I view it, if I'm at the beach with my detector, whether in the dry stuff, in the water, or in the wetsand, I'm " In the lane".
I like Myrtle Beach, I can spend only a few days a year there though and REALLY get anxious about it when July 4 week nears. What area will you be hunting? We go to Ocean Lakes and rent a beach house with a couple other families and I hit the beach early EVERY morning and evening with my detector. I LOVE it.

keep your eyes peeled for a guy in the water named "foiled again jim", (he is kewl guy) he has been on a golden roll down there for about 3 weeks

i know u will not be able to get in the water, but hunt as close as your bounty hunters will let u to the sea - aka "The Lane"

Thanks guys think I get the picture now lol. will be covering the Grand Strand area, seems to be the most popular area.

I do have one question though. If say a ring is in the sand an inch or two will it move with the tide or will it remain where it is when the tide goes back? In other words if say someone was swimming say at mid-high tide and lost their ring is it going to go out with the waves or drop and get buried in the vacinity it was lost? So that when the tide goes out it would be in the upper wet sand? If that makes any sense, lol.

I was just In mtrtle beach A few weeks ago on a golf trip. I have been going down there every winter for the last five years. I allways curse myself for not bringing my detector, but with my golf clubs and other bags, it's just too much to bring. Every morning before the rest of my friend wake up, I go down to LITCHFIELD BEACH which is located in just south of the grand strand. I highly suggest hunting that beach. I usually sit on the beach and just take in the beauty, but cannot help but notice the amount of commerce for the winter. Just a suggestion, but look it up. If I was going to myrtle beach for metal detecting, I would hit Litchfield beach for sure.
