Going to South Carolina

Hey fellow AU hunters I am going to lake Murray by Columbia South Carolina to fish for the day and would like to stop on way home to Indiana or while around lake to do some panning. I will not have dredge or highbanker with me just pan as I am traveling with two other people so no room in vehicle. Anyway do you have any suggestions for this area to look for some color while I am there. Leaving mar 3, 2015
