I just found three of these yesterday (1926, 1938 and the 9) and I found the 1912, 1927 and the horse tag a couple weeks ago. I found the one with the 9 on it about 6" from the 1938 so I'm wondering if they ran out of 1939's and maybe gave that as an extension to the 1938. Also the piece of a tag has the date folded over on the back but all that is there is 191 so it's sometime between 1910-1919. The horse tag has the horses name and a phone number on the back so I may try to contact the owner to see if they would like it back. I've found quite a few more recent tags too including a 2011 lifetime registration tag that I returned to the property owner who was very appreciative to get it back since the dog is still living and the tag costs over $50.

If anyone else has any old dog tags post a picture to this thread I'd like to see them!

I found a couple of them in my back yard when I first moved in. 1934 and 1969.
