Going up to nh twin river area next month would like some help

Hey all ive been doing some research and finally decided im going to take a nice trip to nh Im going to be staying at the twin river camp ground what im really looking for is what are the laws and restrictions to the area and surrounding area i was thinking of following the wild ammon river up towards the mountain but any people that have been in the area can you help me out with and advice and let me know whats what out there. I only plan on panning maybe a sluice but from what i also hear I am unable to use a shovel or "hand tools" ?

ty yea i tried really only detecting on there its alright i have faith someone will have some info like i said not goin til next month so got some time
