It had been four years since I pulled gold from the ground. This is probably the nicest ring I have ever found and I estimate it to be from the 1940's or 1950's. It is 14k with five diamonds. I have been trying to locate the site of a pre-Civil War cabin so I am digging all signals. There is also a 1919 home on the same site. This rang in as a 45 on my AT Pro. When i asked when they started putting diamonds in rings i wanted to know aboujt the time frame. I found a ring that was over 100 years old and it was a plain gold band for a lady. I was just beaing curious nothing else intended

My questions are when did they start putting Diamonds on wedding rings ?
The first example of a diamond's use in jewelry was in the form of a Hungarian queen's crown in 1074 AD. After that, the diamond became used in many crowns and royal jewels. The first documentation of diamond cutting in Europe dates back to 1407 in Paris where there was an active guild including jewel cutters.

Wonder if the last picture having the ?DC-1 represents 1 Carat weight in Diamonds?

Wow, that ring looks amazing! It's so refreshing to see the beauty of gold after not seeing it for four long years. Thank you for showing us!

When do you think they started putting diamonds on common everyday peoples rings ?

That’s incredible! What a great find. Think of the history.

Sweet find. I have been metal detecting for 4 years now and have found 10 gold rings already but still haven't found one with stones.
