of were they had mined for the gold and silver in SouthAmerica and Mexico?

HOLA: Yes of course, particularly the better producing ones. However, a far better source is the Central govt' Mining sector in each country.

In Mexico this would / could be SECOFI, go frorm there. For the very old mines it may require a bit of pushing, but the records do exist. These records exist in each states capital.
