Gold Diamond and Ruby Ring!!!

I found this GREAT 14K gold ring in West Virginia! It has 12 diamonds and a huge ruby in the center. I was hunting this one down for the property owners, who had asked me to look for it. The daughter it belonged to had lost the ring (which had belonged to her grandmother) when she was out climbing a tree 7 years ago. I searched around the base of the tree and got my first signal (a pulltab). When I dug the second signal, this beauty popped out of the hole. They were ecstatic to have it back. Plus I got permission to hunt the property and recovered more cool items. (But more on that later...)

Thank you for your responses to my post. It makes me extremely happy to return rings and other items to their proper owners. After 14 years of detectin', there is only one class ring that I haven't returned (a 1941 silver ring), and that was only because I couldn't for the life of me find what school it was from. I sent letters all over the place, though. Don't think the school still exists. Perhaps a school far away from where the ring was found.

WTG Buckleboy, that must have given you such a great feeling. That's awesome. About the class ring, have you checked historical societies in the search for the school? Like you said, it may no longer exist or possibly they changed the name. Good luck with the search and again, good going on the ring return.
