....the last two hunts produced four rings and the usual finds. However, the 18K gold plated and sterling appear to be oldies, and I love oldies.

I have found a several gold plated rings in the past and all were old. There wasn't a lot of money around in the old days and that is the reason I think they were plated. I've also found three old rings marked gold that weren't, all three were brass and were also old.

My guess would be that the plated ring above probably had a cameo or some sort of synthetic stone in it.

I had to clean it. All the old silver needs to be cleaned that's found in the salt water.
