gold in nc

went out sluiceing today in the eastern nc. i been working this area for about 3years. i mainly find flour gold here. a few nugets. today i found around 200 specks. for the spot im working this was a really good day. i been digging down to the bottom,clay layer. today i smapled and found the gold to be on the top 6" that where the the gold was. must be flood gold. so i can work the top layer get more gold or work the bottom and get a few and fa
fare in between nuggets.

I would say prospect both! However, if you can get down to the bedrock or an alluvial stream bed, there should be lots more nugget Gold to be found.

i try to work all top to bottom. side to side. the creek im in is only about 5 ft wide and 18 in deep. not much to work. i try to find the layers.or areas with the most gold in it.
