Gold markings?

First off, I'm sorry the pics arent great. The microscope I have is for coins. Not good for this. So I was going through a rock heap from the quarry. I found these and naturally made me curious. Yal may know straight away, but I have no idea. The larger (about 1/2 inch) one looks like paint dropped, but doesn't scratch away. Any ideas, I dont really expect it to be "GOLD!" I have just not seen this. Thank you much.

It looks like there are small amounts of quartz in the rock and gold travels with quartz so the possibility of it being gold is good crush the rock then pan it if it is the heaviest thing in the pan you might have a winner.You could also test it with acid.You can buy acid test kits online.
