Gold Ore

A little sample that was found with a metal detector. Crushed by hand then panned to wash away some of the dirt and clay? The photo is macro so real small particles, but the quartz shows and what looks like iron and free gold. I think we need a small smelter to retrieve the values trying to speed up the recovery what's your thoughts ?

The instructions from the mfg say to run it dry it makes a little dust but powders the ore. Finer the better water would just slow the process and make mud from hell. I just take the end plate off and brush all the powder out and clean the screen and I'm back to work .

I agree based on actually using a chain impact pulverizer.

When I started getting my pension I quit buying cats, it's easy to leach out the platinum group metals. from the comb.

What you'll soon learn is selling the platinum group metals is not that easy as the markets are much to volatile.

I enjoy a good mystery novel, but this story just has too many holes in it. From gold right out his back door, float then old tailings then today a vein from the mine.

I don't claim jump, I do not steal, I work in heavy machinery and I work incredibly hard and I am proud of myself and what I do. You are slandering my work and my passion and calling my father who also built his home himself and worked his whole life and has never stolen a cent a liar. I am not sure how the moderators work on this forum but I will find out- I have many friends in the relic and prospecting community, friends who also frequent this page. What you're doing is harassment. My father is 76 and having a blast helping me process the gold and we do it with honesty and joy and good will. As far as your CIA level phone tapping espionage and threats, I also use Apple products and maybe you can do your research about them getting any kind of "information" off my phone. The BLM operates on a glacial pace as do most government agencies in the United States. So I wish you luck in your endeavors but I need to urge you to stop your harassment and poor behavior. Everything I do in my life is ethical and the result of hard work. I hate even wasting my time responding to someone with so little respect for themselves that instead of being supportive and encouraging you are threatening and frankly weird. I will be reporting your behavior to moderators as I believe this should be a place of sharing, learning and community and what you bring to the table is threats and disruption.

SouthFork and Son, You may want to hang on to some of those samples without crushing them. It appears you may have more value keeping them as specimens. Gold in quartz can be worth well over spot price. Just my opinion, but could be worth looking into.

My son Seth and I worked all day crushing all the rocks he hauled up to the house for me to play with. The dust was flying I'm glad we had a stiff breeze we crushed classified panned some and ran all the fines through the sluice. I have a bucket of concentrates to clean today.

First pan out of yesterday's crush we pulverized around 30 pounds of ore. Still have a half bucket of fines to run and a little coffee can of bits and pieces to regrind that I screened out of the 30 pounds. We ran it too fast and didn't get a good grind the crusher was packing up because we didn't let it clear before tossed another rock in. I said we because I had help lol. Happy Father's Day.

That was a small baggie full of ore samples that made the detectors scream you could see visible gold on all the pieces. The rest of the 30 pounds of ore was micro gold but produced a good pinch. Three guys worked a good part of the day breaking rocks everyone shared in the results. I was number 4 but I had a shady spot and a chair watching the chain mill and sluice.

Hey Southfork absolutely diggin the ore you're finding and your low budget inventive methods of getting the shiney from the gaunge. I run a chain mill too and have the same issue you have with the screen clogging up. If the ore is completely dry and I run a shopvac to the screen I can usually run without having to take the cover off and clean. BUT I don't have that horrible problem you got with gold balling up and clogging my screen! Ha! Did want to mention that in spite of the manufacturer's directions I have run a wet system through the mill. Welded up a hose holder at the input and a bucket holder tipped at about the right angle for the vibration of the machine to jiggle the ore in at a slow but steady rate. It worked all right, still clogged up but not near as often. The mesh tended to be a bit more coarse because the water seemed to push the ore through the screens faster than gravity and air. I couldn't find a picture of the wet setup but here's the dust deputy/shopvac setup. Thanks for postin those finds! Very encouraging.
