Gold Plated Ashtray?

Hi Guys
First time in this part of treasurenet. I've got an ashtray and 3 small rectangular trays that were purchased in a "box and contents" at an auction sale. Each item has Habico stamped on it as well as 22k. They seem to be made out of ceramic and gold plated. I've tried to google Habico to find these items with no success,Habico seems to be a habberdashery handling craft supplies and whatnot. Is it possible that these things are actually plated with 22k gold? And if so, Is it worth more as what it is or should I remove the gold? And what is the best method for removal?

Thanks for the reply. The name is ink stamped as is the 22k. It was on it's way to the dumpster when I snagged it. Thought I might try a Dremel tool with a grinder to see if the gold would come off.
