Hello Everyone,

Today was in the high 40’s β€” low 50’s in Massachusetts; great digging weather. The only question was the ground frozen, but with all of the rain and melting snow the digging was perfect! We went to a local school looking for some keepers, but were actually just glad to be given the opportunity to hunt in January. We used the Minelab 705 (18.75 Khz coil) with an interesting game plan, dig only lower mid-tone numbers between 4-14 (foil thru nickels) with the idea of finding gold, nickels or junk! It is sometimes fun just to look for a specific target and see what happens! We found as hoped Nickels, lots of Foil and a 10K Gold ring.

Thanks for looking.

GL & HH

:headbang: Glad you foiled them! Do you know what stone? Looks almost black.

Is that a bird leg band?

Deft Tones, not sure about the stone, but will bring to jeweler since the band needs to be re-aligned.

Big Congrats on finding the gold ring. "Dig only lower mid-tone numbers between 4-14 (foil thru nickels)" is an excellent plan, especially in areas that are loaded with pull tabs. Setting the discrimination just high enough to discriminate out a sports foil cap will still be a low of enough setting to detect a super tiny gold baby ring. Notch out everything above nickel and start digging.

Hello Loco-Digger,

Went out this morning for 1 1/2 hours it was cold today around 20 degrees. :BangHead: Didn't find any gold, but glad to be able to hunt! :icon_thumleft: I'm going out again to another soccer field this time using a new setup for my Whites V3i, it promised results! :tongue3:

Regards,

Doc
