A friend and I had a pretty good day digging last Thursday near the Brazos. About 50 completes and another hundred or so broke. Fun day.

Yes they are extremely fragile. They are made of several different versions of Brazos river cobble that is basically Edwards chert with more iron.

This site made many large to the type birdies. Perdiz, Alba, Bonham, Catahoula,Edwards,Steiner,Scallorn. All types have been found with the exotic stickers. You are correct that many in these frames are first stage. Not a cache though just lots of camp dirt dug to find them.

Very nice frames. I used to camp on the brazos river a lot. It can flash flood quick. I use sifters all the time when I dig out shelters and have a pile of them all types. Had a friend who had some rock shelters on his land by a creek. He ran a pump from the creek and washed out the shelters with high pressure. He found a lot quickly in what would have taken me 3 seasons. I was envious.
Loved the Brazos river. It is like some rivers around here that are lost in time. Hope it is still like that.

Lots of these were "A" framers until we consolidated the collection. Many got bumped just because of smaller size. That long frame is almost all monster sized birdies.

Of course this is just a look at some of the birdies. The camp has a monster early archaic and archaic element. Not to mention the paleo.

Super frames of points for your site Steve. I've definitely missed seeing your finds from the O'logy days and those awesome Slothslayer points!!
PS-I liked the comment on cheating earlier...….my "like" was a fun like in Jest because I can't do that where I live

Yessir. I miss the site. Most folks here never heard of a sloth slayer. They are my favorite frame though.

Oh I remember them well...………..my Fav's too.
I have a friend that knows you so I'd heard you were still power screening. Have you come across any Sloth Slayers from these other sites?

Here is a look at my Houston co dig. Standing at the top of my hole looking down at my skid steer with bucket raised. In the next pics you can see the occupation layers with charcoal all the way into the clay hard pan . it was about 15 ft deep at this point.

Neither. Acumulation from 13000 years of ashes rocks poop etc. I think one of the main contributions to building the layers was sand carried from the creek and used to floor lodges. There was a large spring that had been dug out and a clay dam built around in paleo times. Made a very nice well and still held water.
