Decided to go to a hammered Civil War camp today for a short hunt. Had a good day, found two carbine bullets, a pistol bullet, an 1801 half cent and a slightly bent 1783 reale (I was able to straighten it when I got home). Excellent 2 hour hunt!

Question: I don't recognize the carbine bullets and pistol bullet, can some one ID them for me? I understand there have been quite a few Confederate items come out of this camp. Thanks!

Great finds bud....the Spanish is sweet!
Curious how you straightened the real.....
Here's what I do with bent zincs and clad....I carefully place the coin on my granite countertop, and then smash the $hit out of it with a ball peen hammer, till it's flat.:laughing7:

Lol! No, I didn't smash it with a ball peen hammer. :) I put it between two smooth blocks of wood and squeezed it flat in my vice. Worked pretty good.

Their history

It would be neat to know the detailed history of each of your finds.

Outstanding recoveries, especially that half cent...rarer than hens' teeth they are. Nice to see you posting. Best wishes in 17!

Thanks guys, I went to the same place again today and found another silver reale, another carbine bullet and a pewter flat button. It's been a good couple of days!

Half cent or half reale makes a good day in my book. Nice going.
