In Florida there are approximately 37,000 people who have fled from imprisonment or scheduled imprisonment. They are labelled 'absconders'.

This number represents just Florida. You can verify it buying going to the Florida prison website.

The police obviously are not 'looking' for these people.

I wonder if our elected officials would spend some money hiring people as bounty hunters? I think I am on to some of those jobs our elected officials keep talking about creating.

Any opinions?

It cost more to imprison someone than it does to ignore them......that just sucks. >:(

It costs more to put them in prison for four years than to send them to college for four years!

Being an absconder or a prison escapee is a more effective way of keeping a
person out of trouble than parole or those ankle bracelets. The last thing those
folks want to do is to attract attention. They don't mess with their neighbours;
they don't speed and they work hard and lay low. Many of them can live a quiet
honest life for years or decades until they get stopped on a routine records
check. If you really want to chase people why not look for the folks who skip
states to avoid paying child support and then we all have to pay their bills.

Siegfried you hit it right on the head I couldn"t have answered it better. thanks

I need a good job. I want my cut of the new socialist govt. I thought there might be some room in the budget for my new job.

Try doing Maury Povich style DNA tests on the children of all the single moms
drawing assistance so we can send the bill where it belongs. If she won't name
the suspects and can't show a police report of a rape then she loses her benefits.
Should be some government funding there. Your Messiah wants to cut the
budget deficit. Every daddy you identify would save us over $10,000 in benefits
yearly and if they back date them it would save even more. siegfried schlagrule

If they are out on bond then the bail bondsman often will hire a bounty hunter to find and retrieve the fugitive. Very risky business however. Many of these people are hardened criminals and are leading a criminal lifestyle.

You can make a thousand dollars here in Florida just turning in the name of any convicted felon with a firearm. I cant remember the name of the program.

Cappy... sorry about not getting freebies and handouts from the Obama like he promised you would get.

Took a couple bad guys to the police station before, but they had self-preservation concerns foremost in their minds.

Chasing down real tough bad guys for money is something else I leave to the likes of TV contract-bound ex-cons.

I think md'ing is easier money.
