Good place to look ???

Hi everybody. Went to a new spot to sample a couple buckets will let you know how it pans out. Got a couple questions, first do you guys think the rock formations could be gold bearing ? second should i be digging in the pockets or at the base ? there is a nice flowing creek just feet away do some sluicing. There is a close up photo of the rock it has a lot of fine quartz mixed in with whatever type of rock it is i think. Thanks for any info.

You've got a very very intriguing outcrop there. Are there other historical gold mines in the area?

Looks good? Not really... It looks like your in a place choked with hydraulic tailings and the actual gold bearing river bed is probably at least 30 to 100' below the cobbles. Dig deep, find the bedrock in the creek, and then let us know... Honestly, I would drive upstream to where the road ends and the cobbles dissapear

Thank you Reed and Saltwater, this is the lytle creek, Ca area. I believe they did some heavy hydraulic mining back in the 18 hundreds, the end of the road is 5-6 miles up stream, but ppl are pulling gold out of this area. Don't know if you can see it but in the 6th photo someone dug about 3-4 feet looking for something. This is all new to me. I will take the sluice box and dig down and run some material. Panning in my back yard is not cutting it.
