Good week to go to Aruba...( encrusted ring cleaned )

What a nice week to not be in Florida ! Missed TS Fay entirely. Got out for 3 hunts. First day at Palm Beach in front of the big resorts, found most of the clad and a coin made into a pendant. Second hunt went to Baby Beach at the other end of the island. Lots of fish, great snorkeling, few finds, many bottle caps. It was fun but I would not TH there again. Last hunt went back to Palm Beach and found a silver ring marked .925 Thailand, a $5.00 Florin, which is about $2.50 US, and coin with only a crown on each side and the letters VB in the crown. I think it's a token of some kind. Got a ring to encrusted to know what it is, and a Tungsten Carbide ring in new condition made by Benchmark. They have it listed on their web site for $269.00.
After some research the pendant turns out to picture Tigranes II from first century Armenia, with the other side showing Tyche of Antioch seated above the river god Orontes. It is a copy, but still an interesting find.
I had no problems hunting in Aruba and 8 times people came up to me with stories of lost rings, watches, ect. One women wanted to hire me to find a diamond ear ring lost somewhere on the beach or in the water...
The resorts machine rake the sand every morning, but the water is loaded. I can't wait to go back there again.

man, that looked so perty, nothing like our beaches here. Very nice haul, and the pendant is awesome. I found a Tungsten ring here last week, I love how they look. very pretty and shiny as hell. Any plans on cleaning that ring? Maybe electrolisis will help. There is a recent post detailing how to set it up.

Yes, that instructional post was great. Thanks Time4me ! The encrusted ring is in the tank now. The crud is just pouring off of it. Got a supprise after cleaning some of the clad: a 1945 war nickel. It's the first I have ever found.

After using electrolysis on it all afternoon the ring came clean enough to see .925 Mexico inside. This one has seen better days, but adds to the scrap silver pile.

Thanks for the ID on the token, thats it exactly. The coin on the left is an Aruba 5 Florin.
