Stopped at a site I had my eye on for a while, was never able to get in touch with anyone. Today I'm driving pass and see someone coming out of the place. Well made a u turn and stopped them, before they got in the car..lol
They were in a hurry, so they said go ahead, and thats all I needed.
This place is incredibly with lots of history all around.
I got my gear on, ground balanced and with in 10 min I had 2 half cents.
I thought the first was a quarter because it was so shallow till I wiped it and said oh ya, thats in great shape, put it in the container and went right back to it. Right next to it I get another hit just like that. Dug down and Bam! Another one. Ya baby. Right after that the skies open up and started to pour.
I wrapped up, can't wait to get back.
Thanks for looking.
George

My apologies again George for being so slow to respond, but I've had a lot going on as you know and haven't been able to spend any time on the forums lately. I didn't realize that your 1834 was a half cent too until I just read your post. That is one incredibly awesome copper! I've only found 4-5 half cents over the years, and all were toast except that rare 1811 I dug in a yard years ago. I assume yours came from a yard too based on its fine condition. Great to see you have another site to add to your long list, and hopefully some early silver will start popping soon. Hope you're drier up there than down our way. Over 8" of rain the last 2 days with a lot more coming. At least the hurricane will bypass us which is very fortunate for us. Talk to you soon.

Me toooo Jay..
Thanks.

I'd definitely give Tom's left one for a half cent in that condition. All my half cents are toast or look like they have been run over. How did you clean that George?

Just toothpick very very slow under a magnification then soft toothbrush. No water what so ever!
And no oil.

Whoa... Do not toothpick either the left or right one. They are very sensitive!

I stopped using water after you called and yelled at me about that 1816! Lol. I guess I deserved it because you warned me not to beforehand...

Yes, and for your punishment you must turn over the reale from yesterday. ..

Those are a couple of great looking Half Cent pieces. A few years back I dug an 1804 that doesn't even come close to the shape yours are in. Very nice.

Thanks Trezure,
This is definitely my best I have dug.
