I picked the gorgeous 1973 King Seiko 25j day date hi-beat from the GW boutique for $12. The dial is amazing with this holographic stripes that change from robins egg blue to a deep blue green. And just look at those case lines! Wow just love this beauty. Very nice piece! :icon_thumleft:

WOW!!!! 500 - 800 bucks for that piece. What a find and crisp case :)

I became somewhat attached to saving all the vintage Seiko's I've found, just because they show up more often than some of the other vintage watches anymore. They're definitely gaining in popularity to collectors. I've got a few of the order Seiko's now that I've picked up at thrift stores. I'd happy getting that one for 12 bucks.

In researching this particular watch I found out that it is a King Seiko. Apparently when they were exported out of Asia they did not include the KS like they do in Japan. The giveaway is the English French date wheel. Unfortunately I do not find many vintage Seiko’s in my area.

Over time I've been able to collect a few Seiko's around here. The last one I picked up was when I got that Benrus Citation electric at the same trift store where they had a pile of discarded wristwatches. It's a gold plated Seiko Lassale. Those have a higher quality jeweled quartz movement inside.
