Gosh i wish i had the money.....But should i try this technique?

So, im at the gun show.....minding my own.....i notice some jewelry so i check for Content Markers and there are none.....and some guy walks up to me and pulls out 2 tubes of mini M&M's.......

Needless to say there were no M&M's in them, so i was kinda dissapointed.....but when he told me each had $22 face in silver quarters my ears started ringing (In the tone of silver of course).....

He asked me how much i would pay.....now i only had $75 from a rifle sale on me......so i told him i couldnt buy them straight away from him. Then i proceded to ask, without quoting my price, "How much are you looking to get for em?". We play this game a little bit before he gives me a price for $7.50 per quarter.....i told him that was a bit high from what i knew at the time.....so he gives me his card and tells me to give him a call after i do some research. He then proceeds to tell me he Inherited a total of $5000 face value of silver coins. Of which only about $200 has been searched through (probably too good to be true). He said he kinda just wants to sell them off and isnt intrested in searching through em himself due to time constraints.


So.....theres no way i can buy roughly $62k+ worth of silver....no matter how much i want it. So....do you think i should offer to sell it in lots for this guy on Ebay, and search through the coins for 10% of the final value listing (or a fair amount of coin in trade)?

Also .....i dont really trust anyone...... is there a chance that any of these may be fake, and if so whats the best bet on finding out.....im assuming weight (even tho some are pretty worn).

Thought and suggestions please?

Bummer. I'm ready to fly in and do the deal. If he waits, the price of silver will change. then, if it goes up, he'll get a better price somewhere else. If it goes down, then he will expect you to still give him the same price, even though the price is down. he needs to realize that if the price goes down, the offer goes down too. And we are talking about $100K here. He is "waiting" to do a deal for $100K? NOt many that can Do that deal, so he needs to make his mind up SOON.

Let me know as soon as you know. I'm ready to click on to the travel site to get tickets as soon as you say it is a done deal. :-)

I have my fingers crossed, but for now it seems like a waiting game. Doesnt look like silver went anywhere in the right direction today, but he understands if it drops much the price will drop as well.

Let's try to work it the OTHER way then. See if you can find out who paid him 26X face. Shoot, we can do the other side of the deal instead.

I'll sell AS MUCH as he WANTS for 26X face. I can buy it online right now for 24X face (So the guy paying 26X face is overpaying by a LOT), so selling at 26X face would give us the same 2X face profit we need. I'll give you 1X face to set it up and make 1X face to do it. Will they do another $5K in face?

That does seem intresting, ill try giving the guy a call tonight about it. I could definetly use the money right about now. The guy was saying something about the buyer being some kind of commodities broker or something, not sure how that helps, but he says he deals in large numbers so he might be intrested in buying more.

Now that you bring that idea up i see where i think u might be buying it...lol. But i will call tonight and hopefully have an answer.

It doesn't matter to me if I am buying it (And then selling it) or (buying it and then ) selling it. Either way I am looking for the TRADE. Makes great sense to do a deal if someone if high on the bid OR low on the nask. either way. that's how you make money in life in general. FInd an arbitrage situation, or any special situation, and work it like crazy. Don't get emotionally attached, but do the work for the profit. That's how i was able to go from trying to buy from this guy (At too low of a price from him) to selling (At too high of a price) to his source instead. Neither way affects my silver stash, but either way makes us (Yep, both of us) a profit. :-) That's another point on deals. If you can make it a win-win situation, then both sides like it and the deal gets done.

Hi Alpha105; Can You ----

buy it from him in smallerv lots. Selling off the Silver ASAP and using the profits to aquire larger portions of his hoard. Then make sure you go through them BEFORE you sell off the silver. This way you still make the same proit with just a little more work. It's worth a shot. Good Luck. PEACE:RONB
