Well I decided to pick up where I left off the other day and hit the bank that I got a couple rolls of near solid 40s from, and had to leave behind $70 worth as I ran out of cash!

Well the last 70 didnt have squat...oh well. Maybe I will have better luck in the next town.

Well I did ok, First bank said they didnt have any but the north branch had $1000 of halves that they had ordered for someone...hmm, intersting.

Next bank I went too was a nice score. Total crappy bank, they barely spoke English! I was able to communicate with them and they had $1 up front and said then had $500 in back. Good thing I know some Spanish!
Anyway they said they had been back there for a long time and seemed happy to be rid of it! It was a nasty looking box, frayed around the corners, a nasty grease stain on the top, and when I looked down through the holes I saw yellow, Oh a plated one I though.
As I am carrying it out too the car I flip it over and its dated. Sep 30 2004.

WOW, silver was cheaper then. Maybe this will be a pretty good box.

So I get to the car and pop the top and I see bens staring at me! Sweet! I work though the box and find a nice amount of 64s, a few 40s, and bens. I saved the ben rolls for last. Ended up pulling 8 bens and some weirdness. I got a half that had been cut down to have one face copper, the other a half dollar, But it had been milled down a ways, I put a pic up. the copper side had a Mexican stamping on it. Here is the weird part, its not an imprint because its not a negative, a double imprint maybe???
Anyway, its weird. Oddly enough I did not find any NIFC in there, I usually always get an 05 or 06 LOL
I also found a 2000 Sac Dollar stuck in the end, No doubt the gold color I saw, So I got an extra $1

So I was pretty fired up, I decided to go check out that $1000 in the north end of town. I got there and walked in and said, hi, I ordered $1000 in halves and would like to pick them up.
Ok, no problem, and got me the halves.
THATS RIGHT, I POACHED THEM!
Reason being, there is some CRH up here that was ordering from this branch and searching then taking them back, and this created a policy that no one can get more than $100 in halves from this bank anymore, who knows how many months of years this policy will be in force for. But other branches where he was not a problem does not do this yet...So being that he has made my life a pain, he can lose a bit and deal with the frustration of his own mistakes. I hope he reads this so he knows what he lost. I got a few more bens and 90s, and a few 40s too. Oh yeah, and I got a walker out of one too.
I also found this guys dump bank as I dumped there today, the filled a bag when I turned in and I asked them how long it took to fill,
"Oh, we have a guy who bring in halves all the time so several thousand a week."
I can see why, its a fast coin counter...but not accurate....sort of, It counted all the halves I pulled out with accuracy but it have me $10 in $1 coins and $2 in quarters.

The teller asked me if I had any dollars or quarters in there and I said I maybe did. So i got an extra $12
beats the extra 30 cents I got the last time at the other one! LOL

So anyway not a bad day at all.
8 Ken 64s
29 ken 40s
10 bens
1 walker.

I know what that is. It is a part of a magic trick called Scotch and Soda. Somewhere is a shell with the obverse on it. I had one a few years ago, they fit together so well, you can hardly tell it is a fake. The trick sometimes sell on ebay. You have an older one from the looks. I bought mine for 50bucks about 3 years ago or so.
Nice silver finds!

I have found 2 whole ones in boxes and one of the backs like you show 2 boxes ago.

I found a video of the trick...now that is cute, and I see how its done, thats awesome!
Lots of milling and work for a simple trick but hey. I wonder how many of these have been spent! lol
thanks for the info on it. I was very confused.

Sweet box!
Great revenge on the poacher!
