Talk about things falling into place!!!

That's an easy way to find them.

Looks like you had a good day. Nice looking area! Their just jumping in your shoes! Any fish jump in your boat? It's the size, shape & nice kind of stone they might have used but are you sure it's legit? I don't really see anything to suggest it's not natural. Maybe it's just worn. With your track record I'll assume your correct though. Nice easy find!

Cool! I have a friend kids me about being lucky. He tells people " Arrowheads get stuck to the mud on Rusty's boots". I got to show him I'm not alone!

I'm sorry but that doesn't look a artifact to me I see rocks like that in the creek all the time! Why do you think it's a artifact?

its quartzite. You cant see the work on the edge?

I see that it's quartzite I just can't see the work on the edges but I'm just looking at a picture so if you say it is worked that's cool!

Its creek worn that's for sure. Old break by the staining. But its a knife from what I can tell either tip or base. No idea how big it would of been. 1st time I have ever found one in my shoe. Just thought it was a neat thing happening like that.

Yeah rock that's a pretty neat way of finding one I guess I better pay closer attention to my creek finds for now on!

Looks like the base of an adena, I've seen several made of quartz up this way.

Hey rock, while you're here could I see that pic of the black & white looking tool your holding in your avatar? Pleeease. It looks so cool, yet so tiny on my phone. When you get the stones out of your shoes.

Thanks Kevin I was thinking in that same direction. Quartzite tumbling in a creek for many years can really get hard to get a I D on. We have sand and cobbles in the creeks which in turn really wears them down. It even will wear down a flint piece to. I have never seen so much sand dropped in that creek till I went down it. Most sections was only 3 inches deep I had to get out and walk but the sand was a foot deep. Wore me out getting up and down every 5 mins.

I was kinda wondering what that was, as they did way more better work than that and preferred quality material. I have seen some very crude tools made of locally available quartzite, and maybe this is one?

It's a bummer when a spot gets sanded in.. At least down here it can make in the area very unproductive for quite a while until that gets washed out of there ..the same thing happened at one of my spots I fossil hunt not long ago.

Rock, sorry but all I see in your hand is a rock, there is no flaking visible and I blew your pictures way up...
