I’ve been lucky enough to find just 2 whole Cobbs. The tan one looks broken on the base but it must of been an error in the making cause it’s a flake removed. Both were found in creeks. Let’s see yours.

I found this cobbs in may 2021, a small tip ding. made of local chert , I found a small slate celt next to it.
How common are slate celts in IN? I’ve only found one and was really surprised to see it. Slate is pretty soft for a celt. Mine had a destroyed bit.

I have found maybe 6 or there about. I have a number of slate axes also.

in my view, an authentic complete undamaged celt or axe is rare.
 
this cobbs from Miami County Indiana is made from an unknown flint. it looks like it could be of the stanfield variety.
possibly an unsharpened blade.
