Had the same thing happen to a video camera. Went to the beach to take some video before Hurricane Andrew was to hit. Took 90 minutes of film on one tape. A month later i was having all kinds of problems and sent it in for repair. The told me that salt was all inside the camera. From what After talking with the tec for a while i figured it must have been from the salt spray in the air. Now if i take may camera or video camera near the beach on a windy day, i wrap it in saran wrap and take pictures. Cant even tell that the saran wrap is over the lens.
