This brass tag was dug at a site that has produced colonial items and relics up to the 1850s. I am dying to know what this tag is, looks machine made. Any ideas would be appreciated!

What I see: "WOOD 7 CORN 22"

interesting....maybe some kind of store token? could hardly even venture a date but I would guess 1830's to 1880's.....I suppose it could even date back to the 1700's. Was there a Colonial river or bay port in that vicnity where ships/boats would have unloaded goods?.

I am 175 miles from Wilmington NC. That is a very good idea. I have found lots of items from 1820-1830, thinking cabin burned in 1850.

Hope I do not get scolded for this but It looks like this one found and shown on another forum. A railroad token with words, "wood and cord" not corn. type of fuel for the locomotive.
