A little hunt before I had to take the wife to her appointments. Scored a 1946 Rosie, 1935 Buffalo, 193? Wheatie, and a 1946 Jefferson.

Bam!, just like that a fistful of old coins, that site is great!

That place is like a bad STD...it just keeps on giving and giving.
I told Chris the other day " Can you imagine being the first to hunt there?"

Great finds:icon_thumright:

Good sites are few and far between out here , congrats :occasion14:

Nice digs . Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures with us

Oh I can OD. I remember the day like it was yesterday. First day ever detecting. Pulled out the bounty hunter turned it on and it made sound that showed silver. Dug it and it was a silver Washington. One right after another silver. 4 seasons later with my At Pro and now 8 other people who I have invited still digging silver. Just need you to get yours and you will be the 9th person. Just think. They are gonna bulldoze that one room schoolhouse this year.

Does the school have floorboards that might allow coins to fall through to the ground under it?

Not sure. But I am sure there going to be turning more coins while bulldozing there.

To pick a place like that to be your very first site would just be almost as bad as finding a 1652 Pine Tree Shilling in only your second year of detecting. I mean, after that, everything else would just pale in comparison. Do you know what was at this site before the school and grove? I guess all the finds have been from the same time period as the school/grove ?

that site is flat out awesome!, I think now that the easy signals are cleared out for the most part, whats left will take a little time and patience, gotta weed through some roots, gravel, iron, and beavertails. I really enjoyed hunting that site, I was picturing the old drunk people stumbling around the grove during clambakes and falling over, spilling out their pockets lol!

Short hunts with big finds, Awesome!! My only problem with those short hunts, when the finds start coming I don't want to stop. Lol

I got me a 46 Rosie this evening on a short hunt too. Lol

As far as I know. It dates somewhere around the turn of the century. The grove opened in 1930. I have found some barber dimes and Indians, but nothing older than 1902.

...my AT Pro is no longer a Silver Virgin anymore... I took the slow and low advice on here, and popped this quarter out from a super trashy site that I have been to at least 20 times or more with my other equipment... 1948 S... Cool...

Awesome find! Bet you were stoked when you found that big silver. Glad to hear you were able to get some advice that helped score that baby. You need to start a new thread on today's finds and show that baby off to all of Tnet. Congrats!
