Gotta update my totals, 2 more wheat’s and a 14KT BAND
Christmas Eve Hunt
I had just started detecting a park when a guy came up to me and asked me how I liked my Ace. After a bit I could tell he was an MDer from way back. While we were talking, a guy he kinda knows was pulling out of an old house across the street he had just bought. They start talking and the next thing I know; we get permission to hunt it. He has about 3 detectors in his rig and he pulls out an old 1980’s Garrett. We work the back and I found the good luck token. He found a few wheat’s and a local city token. We head to the front yard where they had just pulled up the sod. My third swing I hit a 14kt gold ladies wedding band. Very petite. My wife say’s that was the style in the old days. Of course she wants it. She has her eye on a big men’s wedding band I found when I first started. So guess what she gets under the tree tonight. Yep, the ladies size 7 gold band I found today. I also found 2 wheats, a 1939 and a 1947. The good luck token originally had a penny in it. I am going to press the 1939 wheat in it. The token is form Charles Food Market & Fine Flowers, S.A. Texas. The phone number is B-31158 which dates it old so I think a wheat penny is just the right coin for it. I also found a St. Anthony religious pendant and an Al Wilson spinner for a lure. I found one on Ebay made in 1904. Mine is patented 1902. I found 39 coins for $2.75. It was a great day. This could be my last ring of the year but I still have a few days left to swing. Y’all have a Merry Christmas.
