This gives people who don't have two GPX detectors something to compare to.

Hi mate. You have gone out of your way to make the video to show others which is good but there are some problems with your testing.
Firstly its an air test done using the top of the coil. That won't show anything in regards to actual ability detecting targets underground. A certain ground type may reduce the depth by several cm or more. The other issue is you are using the top of the coil. Take for example the new Gold monster 2000. The base is more sensitive than the top. Testing from the top is flawed. The base too has shielding on the inside of the coil. The tops and bottoms are very different. Lots of gold detectors are more sensitive from the bottom than the top.
You were in the bush so find a spot that has an erosion gutter or something similar. Then use something to drill a hole into the bank of it. Sometimes you'll find nature has taken care of it for you with holes left by dead rotted away tree roots. This will give you the closest to actual detecting of a target with the ground between the coil and target undisturbed. To test properly don't just wave the coil back and forwards over the target. Walk around with the settings you choose that work best in the ground type you are in then come over the target like you would actually detecting just 1 swing over like is typical. Nobody walks around waving the coil back and forwards twenty times over every spot like you'll often see in videos, its single sweep after single sweep. If they detected like that they'd take a month to cover the area the size of a lounge room. It has to pull you up on that first sweep like in reality. Its easy to wave over and over and listen going "oh yeah, im hearing it" I see that so often. They'll usually say it after several sweeps, that's not realistic. The first pass probably wouldn't have seen them even stop in real detecting.
Like I said about walking around getting the detector to work best where you are, I have myself been at testing sites where guys were going "look, im getting this 20 gram nugget at a foot and a half deep". Yeah they were, but then I'd say "ok, now walk over there and back using the same settings". They would and they were getting ground signals that sounded like targets everywhere. I'd then say "now set your detector so its stable like it should be otherwise your going to be digging false signals all day". So they'd set the detector so it was stable like it should be as they walked about and I'd say "now go over the nugget". Every time the detectable depth was less, but it was the real depth one would get it at operating the detector correctly. Most showing tests will have the detector cranked up to unrealistic levels that wont work in actual nugget hunting scenarios. Its mostly all about them looking like legends being able to find something at some crazy depth which others will oooh and ahhh over. Seen it so many times since I have been detecting, its ridiculous.
Give the ideas I mentioned a crack and you'll see some very different results which will help you when your out actually hunting.
Good luck mate 👍
