Grandpa Left It To Me

I authored that post myself on Friendlies and cut and pasted it here. My forum names are different between the two discussion sites..

There was another discussion I eluded to which got me to start this thread. The scenario there included a coin buyer asking where the coin came from and the seller said it was dug. It seemed to me that the sudden devaluation after that factoid of being dug, was just too fast and easy for the buyer in bartering.

Hey, maybe that coin had been scrubbed. Most diggers can't resist cleaning. I know better tectors than I am though, who have lost value at dealers once it was stated the coin was dug. All of a sudden, "this coin has been cleaned, it's only worth $80 not $200."

Me, I would have hit a couple more dealers and left out the dug-word. You'd at least eliminate the first buyer in the future if you got a much better grade/value.
