Grandson Got Ripped

Angelo came over and told me what a great deal he made at school. Traded some Pokemon's for it.

He said it was worth a lot of money. I laughed in his face and told him he got ripped. Of course, he will not take my word for it.

Tried to find some proof on Google. Zilch.

The coin is the size of a silver Liberty and both sides are identical other then the obvious scratches made with a file to make it look "authentic" The word COPY is also on there and the date 1922.

Angelo is 9, and he bet me $20.00 that it was real. However, he will not take my word for it cause he thinks Grandpa does not know S&#T. Has anyone seen one of these? I don't want to lose $20.00 to the turd so stir me in the right direction.

Gave Angelo his $20.00 and he read all the posts submitted. He said "Wow these guys are smart"

I gave him a $20.00 bill and he asked that I give him 2 $10.00's instead. I asked him why, and he said he was going to give his friend at school $10.00 of it on Monday.

What the hell is a Pokemon

Apparently, you have no kids or you live in a cave or both.

Pokemon (short for Pocket Monster) is a phenomenon out of Japan that is bigger than baseball cards ever were. It has been around for 10 -12 years at least. Pokemon are little (sometimes big) fantasy animals that live inside a Pokeball carried in the pocket of thier trainer. Each Pokemon has different powers, strengths, and weaknesses. The stories (TV, movies, books...) are the adventures of the trainers who come together to battle against each other's Pokemon and often must band together to fight some evil enemy.

Collectible cards, books, toys, games, TV shows, movies...You name it and there's a Pokemon version.

My 7 y.o. son has cards he uses to play a highly complex battling game. He checks out library books that describe the various Pokemon (there are 100's of them) and which is stronger or weaker against others. He watches the movies and the TV show. He has games for his hand-held and home video game consoles. He will host a Pokemon themed birthday party in a few weeks. Basically, he lives and breathes Pokemon.

A quick internet search will show you just how popular Pokemon is.
