Had an early start & Dad & I did 3 hours together & then I did a further 2.5 Hours on my own & in the rain :coffee2:
We had a good session with the Roman Coins still extending into the field, so we still have awhile until we have plotted the limits.

16 Roman Coins & 1 we have not had before; FAUSTA, AE3 Obv: FLAV MAX FAVSTA AVG Rev: SALVS REI – PVBLICAE Fausta standing facing head left holding Constantine II and Constantius II. Daughter of Maxinianus and Wife of Constantine. :icon_thumright:
Hammered Halfgroat of Elizabeth I 1582-83(at last) :laughing7:
2 Blank Silver Sixpences
1 Rose Farthing
Jetton
Some Good Buttons
Poor quality Medieval Horse Harness Pendant :(
Civil War (17th C) period Lead powder flask Lid
Broken Saxon Strap Junction :)
Dad got one of the best Roman Lead Steelyard Weights we have found with both the Iron Loops still intact :o
Lastly a tiny (hard to photo) 1st Century AD Celtic Bronze Unit - We had Bronze Age & Roman & wondered if we would fill the gap, this is a good start

That's unlike you ::) :laughing7:

Starting to be a good field! The long awaited hammered! Is that a trigger guard on the 4th pic? Nice buttons too!

Very good for Dec.

Not sure, it crossed my mind, I think its gun related, but it's not something I know much about :dontknow:

I asked because of the CW powder flask. No musket balls in this field? Somtimes You stumble over a skirmish site and get some buttons too. Have some of napoleonic troops who made their way to the rhine. Nice addition to the collection.

Very nice assortment of early buttons, coins and other relics. And always great to see hammered of course. Nice hunt!

Nice finds mate, you and Cru'Dad should do well there . I hope to get out for a few hours in the next day or so, I just hope my finds are half as good ;D. Keep it up you 2 :icon_thumleft:

We do find a lot but it has to be the right places, we spent a few days in March on this field & had very little, so even in a large field you could miss them. In the early days when our knowledge/research was limited, we would only get about 50 a year, now our average over the last 4 years is 1000/year. :icon_thumright: (& some days we get 50 :o )
