Great 1st Hunt " VIDEO ADDED"

I received my new (to me) Tesoro Eldorado yesterday and couldn't wait to take it for a "get to know you" spin this morning after I got off work. After reading the manual, I went out into my front yard and after ground balancing got started om my first real hunt. After about an hour and several nails, pieces if wire, and foil, I got a slight signal. This was in disc mode. It was slight but repeatable. I switched to all metal mode to pinpoint, and when I passed over the target...WHAM! It just screamed. I began digging and when I dumped the third shovel full, there it was....a 14kt gold ring with 11 small diamonds. :icon_thumleft:

This was a ring that my wife lost about 5 years ago. She knew she had lost it somewhere on our 3 1/2 acres, but didn't know exactly where.......but possibly in an old cactus garden. And that's where I found it, about 3" down. I know that hunts like this don't happen often, but right now my wife is very happy and I am stoked. :headbang:

I also have a video but can't figure out how to post it :/

Re: Great 1st Hunt

Very nice! A couple of years ago I had a friend call me over to look for a small gold ring that his wife had lost the year before .After an hour I found it .He was so excited he grabbed it and ran in the house. I left and he told me the next day that he had been in the dog house about something and he knew the ring would get him out.
He paid me for my troubles with beer.

Re: Great 1st Hunt

That's a great way out of the doghouse. Or... to get the wife to embrace your new hobby. Congrats on the great first find. You gonna sell it back to her?

Re: Great 1st Hunt

Now she can't complain when you want to go out metal detecting! "Remember, I found your ring ..."
hee hee

Finding gold and diamonds, don't get much better than that.
